That is certainly a very poor design, and in fact it’s a really crap idea, no wonder all the Defenders that travel out of Toorak and South Yarra have bull bars fitted
I didn't think you could fit a bullbar because of the aluminium monocoque chassis. Just brush bars. Is that right? A pic would be nice.

Its a nice looking sports bumper as they call it, but can you get a bull bar though?
It takes a winch, it has recovery hooks, it doesn’t have hoops , technically not a traditional bull bar but protects the majority of the front iso yes if you want to nit pick not a bull bar.
IMO does the same job and looks 100 times better than a ARB bar, if I built another D4 I wouldn’t put a full bar on that either, to much weight, extra fuel and as I don’t drive at night much not worth having all the hoops, winch and recovery points is all most want

300 series landcruiser has intercoolers at each bottom corner of the bumper as well

You are spot on @shanegtr take a look at this video. Nothing drastic and it apparently cracked the LHS intercooler.

That is such a crap spot for intercoolers. The 300 even had a real bullbar.

Land Rover owners have something Toyota owners have less of. A capacity to overlook poor reliability and woeful service.

Poor guy, not the first major problem in a 1 year old landrover.. all plans and accommodation bookings out the window, and the land rover servicing really means you shouldn't use a new landrover to tow.

Weeks of delay.

Ouch. More problems in the next episode, too. Sheez.
