No, but its been back for a leaking windscreen and a module that suffered water damage under the dash caused by the leak.. lol
Yep heaps have had water leak issues, they are a real heap of shit which is why on multiple occasions I have stated there is a very high chance I will never buy another LR unless they can build something as good as the D4

In fairness boobook I think that could be said about 99% of the new dual cabs and their wagon equivalents, hell even the 70 series (the privately owned ones, not the farmers or mining vehicles).

The majority of 4wd owners either own them for the room/ extra seats, or to look cool. You can’t buy v8s anymore. All the blokes/ p platers that once would have driven commodores like wankers are now wrecking the beaches like wankers in their rangers and navaras.

Not saying this is a bad topic or that we shouldn’t discuss it but judging any vehicle and how it operates before any of us have actually driven one is ludicrous.

Personally, they’re not for me. But I’m a dinosaur and I know it. If we were in the early 1900s I’d have been one of the people bagging motor vehicles because they couldn’t go where my horse could and weren’t as reliable.
Still can buy V8 with Range Rover!!!! And boy do they go!!

Until VW came out with the 8 speed Amorack, most "experts" considered a 4WD as one with selectable High and Low range as well as a front and rear diff. This has now been further blurred by Disco Sport and others that claim they are 4WD, just because they have a centre Diff. So maybe the definition neds to further enhanced by saying 1st gear final ratio has to more than 40:1 or something simillar. Or something that has greater than 200mm ground clearance. I dont really know but I have seen our friend Pat C complain about the VW when on the Madigan line not having the gearing to get up a sand hill. What do others think?

I think even if you have 12 forward gears which give you the same amount of gear reduction in first makes absolutely no difference at all when you put them reverse and you don't have any low range capability at all

I think that applies to the Amarok? too
I've been drinking since lunchtime so I choose to make no further comments but mathematics suggests that the same amount of gear reduction in both forward and reverse is useful more so than Volkswagens advertising suggesting it's off-road capable in a forward Direction only

I Used to Love bourbon I can't drink it anymore because I'm getting old and it causes chronic heartburn but just the smell of it gives me memories of my 20s at the Irish pub and you know stuff that I can't repeat

I don't think John is right about the tow ball weight. I'm pretty sure it's 350kg. The cost is about right. Go to the Australian LR website. It takes 10 mins to get a price as they direct you through every single option. Everything is an option. It adds up very quickly to get a fairly basic configuration.

2 days old and 120miles on the clock. The problem videos are starting already. And these guys are US LR tragics. It's only the check light without limp mode but there are a few videos with problems now.

It's amazing. Brand new cars with issues. Hopefully, it will settle down after a few months.

Every new model has issues now. Pretty much inevitable when you have millions of lines of code in more computers, sensors, connectors and wiring. And pushing them out to market quickly to get the money to pay for all the new developments, the public used as testers.

I just happened to Tune In and this was on the top of my recommendations this morning it might be a engine light without limp mode but it's still a bit annoying to buy a new car and have that happen

I would be pissed, simple as that, new cars should not have faults BUT it is LR, it is mega high tech, it did get them home, it did not go into limp mode so nothing serious and they did take it over 12,000 feet so air fuel mixture would stretch any computer settings.
Maybe it just shows how good they are in monitoring conditions ?
Interesting they praised their Disco 3 that never had any issues :)

That is true, all cars are going to have some issues when brand new. But there are a few videos and review popping up now with what you would think are basic problems that would have been ironed out in extensive testing. As expected, most of the more serious ones are to do with the electronics, + like screens locking up, but there was one with more serious issues relating to the braking - or not. But I think these are solvable with a software update.

It remains to be seen if there are serious engine problems. That's when it would become a bigger issue.

Geez that's an optimistic way of looking at things LOL. But it is - fingers crossed - pretty minor in its self. It's just that sort of thing that undermines confidence in a vehicle that's supposed to be rugged for remote 4wding. Especially if you overlap the service availability and other people's experiences. if it settles down it will just be a distraction. Lets hope so.

There will be a ton of near new ones on the market that have never left Brighton or Armadale, when people realise the image doesn't go as well with a glass of Moet, and go back to their RR's.

Actually, the best thing about a near new Disco will be the same as these, low km, never left bitumen and 40% wrtiien off the price in depreciatin in 3 years. The only pre purchase inspections you will need are looking for Mcdonalds chips under the seats, worn out rear cup holders, and lollies stuck to the roof lining. Oh, and all the recalls being performed.

Edit - I added the last line at the same time you 'liked' in fairness to you Matt.
