Partners, kids etc welcome. As a lot of the weekend will be in National Parks, dogs are not allowed.
I will probably head up on the Friday evening, it is still daylight savings, will still be light and it will save a drive the next morning if anyone want's to join me. (and another night in the bush to unwind from work with a campfire and a few quite beers won't go astray anyway).
While at O’Tooles, care will need to be taken due to the number of open shafts around the place. Many of these are not marked and some are quite deep (20 foot plus)
What you need to bring
- Enough food / water
- Shelter ( tent or swag )
- Enough petrol / diesel for the duration
- Self sufficient with recovery gear
- Any tools, spares or other equipment you need
Have a look at this thread for an idea on the sort of things that may be required. http://www.4x4earth.com.au/forum/information-newbies/53-equipment-take-out-your-first-trip-out.html
There are drop toilets at both camping locations but until we get there, don’t know what condition they will be in. A couple of weeks ago they were fine.
Any questions, comments or suggestions, either post here or PM me.
Looking forward to it
Map attached below shows route from Neerim Sth township to Camping Area.
If anyone wants a calibrated Ozi version of this map, PM me. Got the track files too if needed. Let me know
Looks like a good turnout for the weekend, hope the weather is good, can't wait.
