Hey Ozone,
When are you going? have you been since you posted the question?

I asked the exact same question on here not long ago - see newbie forum - "track knowledge around cobbler requested"
None of the guys on here had been there for a while so no answers.
I have read on other sites that the staircase has been bulldozed and graded smooth (ish) late last yr, but again, no one can confirm as no one has been up that way since then.
I will be going there this weekend at the start of a weeklong trip and will be heading up Muesli Spur track on Sunday 28th am from the western end up to Cobbler.
So I should be in a position to let you know if the track exists and if its drivable.
If its not I'll head to straircase route and hopefully pass a vehicle on the way down to ask if its still a staricase - in which case I'll go round the long way.
If youve been since your post- please let me know ASAP to save me a bit of trouble.
If you havent been and still need the answer before your trip, I can let you know
a) when I get back after Good friday 2nd OR
b) if you need to know sooner I can SMS or email from my blackberry phone - it will send as soon as it picks up signal coverage.

Museli Spur
I have heard that Museli Spur is a walking track only. Also the staircase is not as bad as it sounds, there is only a short section that requires some care in wheel placement. The remainder is rocky but with slow going should be fine. Still trying to get Easter off work if so probably bump into you up there.

I thought the that it might be a walking track - and overgrown ant the fact no-one can confirm either means no one has driven it. its all just (pardon the pun) speculation. !!
Im towing a camper so if I dont run into anyone coming down or on the radio to tell me Staircase is gone, I'll go around. I would prefer to come down it with the trailer on rather than pull it up the ledges.
I'll be heading home on Good friday, I'll wave at evey 4X4 on the road heading out - maybe its you. its going to be busy out there.
