Mt May CAMPGROUND CLOSED ON 2/10/09
An alternative site "Old Mill Camp Ground" has been located close by.
WE ARE STILL GOING

After having such a great weekend at LCMP the family here all agree the November SEQ Xmas camping weekend is too long to get our camping fix. We have decided to browse around looking for a close location for a relaxing weekend of just kicking back. We have located a really nice camp area on the banks of Teviot Brook.

The date we've set will be for the weekend of 24th & 25th of October at what we've called "Old Mill Camp site".

Anyone wishing to tag along or even get there early are welcome. The area is very close to the Condamine Gorge & Queen Mary Falls for anyone wanting to get adventurous. I must point out that there are absolutely no amenities. The site is basically on the side of a track but is beautiful and must be looked after. There are no bins so all rubbish needs to be taken out. It has a nice shallow waterhole for the kids to splash around in and there is NO stinging nettle. The area isn't big but will accomodate 5 camper trailers easily. I should be able to rig up continuous hot water for showers for people who can't carry that much water.

Confirmed:

ChalengeLee (all alone yehaa)
Lynda & her tribe
marksorensen, KT and the terrible 2
SandyJeep

Well guys it looks like it will be the 24th & 25th. KT has been told by her work that she has to be part of the greening Queensland thing and has to plant a tree.... Probably a good idea cuz in a few yrs when we are driving around Frosty might need to winch off it.:D

The sign said it was closed until further notice: See below. It may have been opened today I don't know however it is as dry as chips, there is no water anywhere so not much for the kids to do. The alternative camp we found is lush and green with plenty of water and belbirds etc..
