Saying goes the best 4by would have a patrols driveline, a Toyota motor and land rover comfort...
Plenty of people over here are doing LS conversions. After hearing a couple of them I want to put an LS in my Paj
Been done plenty of times already mate.
Putting a cruiser engine in a patrol would atleast make it more reliable , and increase its value.
If you do decide to go Petrol, Look at dropping a 2JZ in it No need to do any work to it just put a good tuner behind it and the sky is the limit for power and reliability.
I was not aware they won't let you put a 42 into a late model GU ? But it seems you have to meet that years emmison stds which would not be impossible for a TD42i but probably cheaper to go the Chev option
Never thought about the 2j ! But hell yeah!! That sound of a straight six twin turbo, 750 - 1000hp stock bottom end. The yanks love em!
They are quite the motor factory Std.
It's just a Toyota Thing
Sounds great I'm sure hubby would love it aswell
The best thing is you can still buy them factory built as an assembled short block
There good for huge numbers and are still reliable. if 1000hp is not for you that is fine just set it up mild.
Each to there own, I have never had any luck with Rebuilt motors and most people I know are the same.
If your keen on diesel, Brunswick are probably your best bet.
What's that mob up the Sunshine Coast that do s heap of conversions. Apparently have a good name!
Qld that is.
look into the new cummins common rail motors that are being imported, they should meet all your emissions standards and can be had for around 8-9k not bad for a diesel motor when the FTE's are around 11k and a rebuilt td42t is around 6-9k
Separate names with a comma.
