Mitsubishi Triton, 2007

Good Points
Versitile, tough and easy to maintain. This is used for the family car around western sydney. Tows our jayco eagle camper easily.
LPG conversion, 3.5l V6. With unleaded and LPG our range is in excess of 1200klm's. Around 650klms on LPG highway approx 550klms around town so thats around $11.00 per hundred klm's

Bad Points
Bit under powered (this is real i'm not pulling your leg here) slightly more power on LPG due to the direct injection. But the torque is what get you moving.

What mods have you done?
Heavy Duty manufacturer tow bar, front protection bar, side steps, rear bar (taken of when off road). Communications from 1.8mhz to 477mhz, ( I am a ham operator), Onboard dvd players for the kids,
LPG Conversion. I have fitted a BRC Direct injection LPG conversion system a 102 litre (usaable) tank is in the tub. Rear Diff lock(factory)

What mods are on the list to do?
Better tyres, driving lights, a winch (I have to make some type of bracket to work in with the front protection bar. ( Removable)

Why did you buy this vehicle?
Only vehicle around that has a manafacture approved LPG system where I could fit a substantial tank so your not filling up ever 250klm's.

How often do you go offroad?
Try at least montly

What will your next vehicle be?
Probably the same

The new Mitsubishi Tritons are a very capable truck and it is great to see more and more of them on the road and in the bush! So thanks for sharing your truck mate!

Great looking truck - needs to be covered in mud (Ha Ha Ha).
Wanted to ask about the LPG conversion
Is your truck petrol or diesel?
How much $
Did you get the rebate, how long does that take?
Did you have any power loss?
If you go touring - what sort of distance could you expect?
How much does it cost to fill up?

I also have a ML Triton and have been considering this sort of conversion - I have to carry my spare tire in the back tub its so big - which means I have heaps of room under the tub were the old factory one used to be.
I don't know if I should do your sort of conversion or just in a long range diesel tank..

LPG Triton

You should see the mud on it today

Petrol

I think conversion was around $4700 ( standard tank 75l my tank 102l)

Yes got rebate only took a week or so.

No loss in power, if anything a slight power increase.

Touring Using both unleaded and LPG excess of 1200klms.

At around 100l refill it depends on the fuels cost but averages around $60.00 LPG for 550klms.

Using the shopper discount vouchers so I can save at time $18 of listed pump price using both (LPG and ULP). I have never fully filled the ULP tank.

Who was laughing when ULP prices or diesel for that matter nearly hit $180 per litre

As my triton is a family vehicle ( I have a dedicated LPG falcon for my work) the conversion is saving us a bucket load of $$$ on weekly fuel costs. However in winter my unleaded costs increase due to initial warm up time.

I cant more highy recommed the conversion however, long term reliability I'll just have to wait.:D
