Mitsubishi MK Triton GLX-R 2.8l Turbo Diesel, 2005
Good Points
I have found these are a very capable mid range vehicle, the fuel economy of the diesel is about 9-12l / 100 km so it doesn't hurt to much. Got a good size tub on the back that can take all our camping gear.
Bad Points
Used to have a very poor turning circle but fixed that with an adjustment of the turn stops, and the back seat seems a bit small but seeing as how I am the driver I don't really care about that one do I?
What mods have you done?
Narva Driving lights, reversing spottie, HR towbar, GME UHF radio, Navman (not so good for tracks and track plotting but will alway tell you where you are),31 in BFG AT's, tray liner (good for firewood collection etc), cruise control (coz the guy at Autobahn said I couldn't fit a vacum driven unit to a turbo diesel!), Tekonsha Voyager brake controller, diff breathers, Safari Snorkel and canopy (at last), lots of junk/recovery gear ehind back seats, 4x4 Earth stickers....
What mods are on the list to do?
Lift the front some more to fit 33 in tyres, winch and winch bar, and I'm sure there's things I haven't thought of yet
Why did you buy this vehicle?
Found it very easy to drive and very reliable, we have a 1997 model at work 450,000 km and still going strong
How often do you go offroad?
Whenever possible.
What will your next vehicle be?
probably another Triton
