Hi gang,
Looking for any really good resources on 4WD in general - very new to it myself, though I have been on several trips through the African bushveld with my dad way back when. Ultimately wanting to see the parts of Aus that are harder to get to (read: where there are fewer people there to spoil the view!) and have bought a brilliant and lightweight off-road camper trailer. At the moment it is being (very temporarily) pulled by a small 2WD SUV, but we are very seriously looking at getting a Hilux or Landcruiser.
I'd love to know - what are some of the rookie mistakes that you made way back when, and do you have any solid advice for a newbie looking to spend life on the road?
Thanks,

G'day and welcome.
Interesting place you have come from and how long have you been here? Do you have any photos of your time in the bushveld over there? Post up some if you have.
My golf mate comes from Zimbabwe.

Sadly no photos with me here in Aus - my family now lives in the UK but Dad heralds from Zimbabwe himself! My husband and I have been here for 5 years now and can't imagine going back to the UK. Dad misses Africa terribly and hopes to go back some day soon-ish....! Looking forward to the next adventure!

Welcome to Earth.
I follow a SA forum. No lions in tents here but plenty of smaller deadly creatures to be wary of.
If you are towing a light weight CT there are not many places you won’t get to in any fourbie. The more remote like the Simpson Desert is best done in tents/swags, just easier.
Enjoy your explorations.
