you might want to check out gps kit to compare as well - its quite richly featured and allows things like downloading google satellite imagery for offline use when your out of cell range and your ipad cant download map tiles anymore

it has lots of map options as well

Triton man, simply open up memory map, go to "maps" in the menu bar top right, click that, then "more maps" right hand top again, then you can access the "digital map shop". Download what you need and the your done.

I have found in Victoria that the free 250k map is perfect. It comes with every track I have ever been on and that includes a few trips into the high country.
