Hey Guys,

Just starting to put together and plan my trip upto Ayres Rock in Sep later this year, am leaving from Melb and going for 3 weeks, I know not a lot of time, but main purpose is to climb the rock before they close it, so looking at putting in some big days to start with to maximise our time looking around, so fingers crossed get to climb the rock on Day 1, but we are building in some time around incase we cant.

ANYWAYS, was looking at potentially coming back alonf the Stuart Hwy and the heading to Oodnadatta and down to Maree then back Melb.

What sort of time would i need to factor in if choosing this way, I understand its in pretty good nic at the moment and i will be towing a camper.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Cheers

Neddy

I've done Wilpena pound to William Creek in a day twice now with stops along the way.
Marla to Maree would be doable in a very long day without too many stops.
Do you plan on staying somewhere in between?

Honestly not sure at the moment, still in the planning stages, so happy to stay somewhere along way if its too long, thinking about it with Kids it probably best to stop somewhere along the way and break it up a little

I'd definitely stop. Plenty of free camps or stay at one of the pubs. Depends on where you're driving from the day before too.

Thanks guys, yes the trailer does have a stone guard fitted, and i am also driving a dual cab without canopy so the rear window will be a bit away from the trailer as opposed to wagons, but still no immune.
