Madigan Line 2024

Just wondering if anyone has traveled the Madigan Line yet this year, or knows someone that has?. I am interested in hearing about the track report. I am getting the impression that the last leg through QLD would be to wet. So everyone would possibly be continuing on down the Hay River track, then across the QAA line into Birdsville?.

Currently no access through Adria Downs, have to turn down the Hay River track at Camp16

Hopefully it will be open by the time you get there. I lodged my permits with CLC 10 days ago but haven’t heard back yet

Access east from 16 is about the last part of the desert to open and the first to close. It was closed last October when we went through.

I feel there’s a good chance it won’t open this year. There really has been a lot of water come through there.

Approx 16 days before we get to Camp 15 so fingers crossed that the track through Adria Downs is open.

Yes I was thinking about Adria Downs, I read a post this morning from a guy who just finished the western side of the Madigan on a motorbike and he asked the Ranger yesterday about when it was reopening. Said there were a lot of flowers out too, the cesert looks amazing when in bloom
He didnt know as it was the station that requested it be closed. Hopefully it opens in time for you.
Where abouts are you currently?
