hey everyone just wondering before I start removing the lpg system from my car is it as straight forward as remove the tank and stuff under bonnet? also going to put a sub petrol tank back in as someone has changed it before I owned it

Yes its straight-forward enough. Naturally, ensure its completely empty.

You may need to have a certified lpg inspector give you the paperwork to say the system has been removed - I'd check with your state RTA on the requirements.

Does depend on the system config too. Some things to consider.
  • Moving primary pump back into main petrol tank area (if the lpg tank is in the place of the old main tank). The float for the gauge may need changing if it was altered.
  • Sourcing/installing transfer pump for sub tank.
  • Installing/modifying/removing fuel lines (depending on what was done with the lpg install).
  • Modifying electrics back to original - petrol/lpg switch operation changes. They may have also cut wiring that was no longer needed for petrol transfer to use connections for lpg system.
  • Cooling system lines to converter removal, plugging of connections.
  • Air intake modifications and mounting/brackets back to original. The inlet piping may have been changed to install the lpg system and its connection.
  • re-tuning timing for petrol (if changed for lpg)
