Landcruiser 300 Series

Yep.

At least I don't have to listen to a whole lot of teen investors and 'insto' rich people telling me I just don't get it anymore.

All is quiet on the western front.
to be fair supply issues made it worse. but the issue is people may not be willing to reduce prices after the supply issues end because the price will be supply by then and not willing to lose any money on the items/cars in questions

this surprises noone. even hiluxes are barely available
and that surprises no one, new Defenders are even a 12-18 month wait with no garantee on build dates or specs, given the number of Toyota sales compared with LR it shows what an absolute mess the world is in.

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? ;) ;)
Dunno about the tree sounds, but I hear crickets … a sigh of relief from NRMA Roadside Assist … and concerned looks from workshops around Australia wondering how they’ll pay for their next holiday trips to Disneyland.:D

yeah DWM have done one too, think they start from around $38k, plus the donor vehicle.

I can't understand paying that sort of money to hack together a ute, when you can get one of the american utes in right hand drive for similar coin that has been engineered and designed to do that role.
i can certainly understand why they would rather trust a cruiser or patrol drivetrain than american trucks who arent always built as tough for our conditions. also gvm upgrades and stronger than stock chassis

Its just a fan boy thing but as always mentioned the big advantage is the extensive dealer network for when they break down :p

Maybe, just maybe, this has something to do with it. ;)

The LR fanboys will simply see that as being at the top of 'A' list, and happily ignore what the list actually indicates ... just saying ...
Actually, I was pointing to No 2 most unreliable. No 1 is a given year after year ( most awarded 4wd 2022 LOL), but the Yank tanks are not much better. Not fun on the Canning Stock Route. They are probably great towing a 5th wheeler on bitumen but that's a limited use case in Australia.

A LC300 with an extended chassis wouldn't be much fun on the Canning either... and most 4wd tracks for that matter especially with an increased GVM.

Are there any extended LC or other that have been around for 10 years yet? I'd love to see how they are holding up compared to a stock chassis.

So, that makes No.1 a real 'No.2'? :D
