June Long Weekend Mini Middle Earth 2013

stressless

4x4 Earth Contributer
I would love to stick my name in the hat as a definate - but I might have to beg the wife a bit first and see if she will give me the funds :D (Its cheap enough though, and with good notice - so thats a good start hahahha)

Never been to a meet n greet or even a 4wd park before - It would be good to meet some of you fellas for sure :) Looks like alot of fun from the photos and what Ive read :)

Is that place a "must pre book" kind of thing? or I could play it by ear and hopefully just rock up? (dont want to say "yes" and then not be able to attend at the last minute is all)

I can put you on the TBC list if you want?. REMEMBER the WHOLE FAMILY is welcome,so you could say "Honey its a good chance for you to have a bit of a BRAKE to."Hehe.
I only need rough numbers as they will a lot space.

Cheers Darren.

I did a little "ground work" when this post was first put up...

Turns out only a small amount of grovelling was required this morning hahahhaha. You can stick me on the confirmed list :)

Mind you the agreement with the wife was that I get to go to the Bylong Park - and she gets to visit her friend in Sydney with the kids so I will be on my own I guess

Im hoping in the meantime I can talk my boy around into coming with me 4wding instead of heading off to Sydney with the wife though :D

Thats made my day :) x1 confirmed mate :)

Im actually looking forward to getting stuck hahahahha

Normally Im solo (no other vehicles I mean) and dont have much proper 4wd experience which means I usually actively avoid pretty much everything and stick to firetrails as a more family touring kind of thing :D

I can guarantee you I will be the "most stuck" person there and possibly too #!@% scared to try some stuff :D
I will triple check my snatch straps packed hahahha

Mate unfortunatly alot of tracks have been gated off just in the last few years (well if you call inch thick steel cable gating)

I tend to play in Medowie State forest now but thats very tame boring stuff.

I like the look of "Wallaroo State Forest" and have been in there a few times but as Im solo and in a stock vehicle with no winch I tend to turn back. Wallaroo entry is off the Pacific Highway so thats easy :) It features everything from novice to hardcore (theres quite a few youtube videos around, if you enter via "nine mile forest road" it leads straight to a small quarry style play area where tracks start branching off - Ive not been past here yet but you can have a little fun in there too)

I got a semi-busted Paj at the moment mate it would have to be in your car hahahah (a clutch kit is in my cars future - but I dont even have all the parts yet and probably wont within 2 weeks - let alone installing it :D)

Mind you I dont know Wallaroo at all except to get to the quarry bit - but Im happy to get lost with you further in if you want :D

This might help you either way if you download the file (google earth track map of wallaroo I found online - right click the file and choose "save target as" or "save file as" then open it from your desktop)
