Lowells is usually quieter than McIntyre's
Next morning i would run out along Webbs ridge to flea Creek. Then had down broken cart to camp at long plain hut or blue waterholes.

Then next day you can swing across the dam and back through yaouk and namadagi to get you back to the smoke.

What is the plan? Saturday, Sunday Monday?
Hit camp friday night. Some will be arvo, others later. So kinda need to pick a camp before reception is lost.
After that go exploring as much as everyone wants I think. There was talk of a base camp.

Not sure i would be leaving my gear anywhere :| Flea Creek is probably the most central, head in down Gentle Annie from the brindabella road, then you have the option of looping north through Lowells/Mcintyre/Doctors Flat or head south through long plain or head east out to the state forests and the powerlines.

Got chains :p
No need for chains, if it snows parks will shut the bloody place up

Really? Can't be that bad can it.
Got to remember it is only an hour from the suburbs to flea Creek... So you get everyone out... Seen a lot of young lads with 28" of lift (idiots who do circle work and cut down trees) ... I just wouldn't be leaving my gear.

Anyway, someone pick a spot and i will head out Friday night, although i have to be back in the city Sunday lunchtime...

Hi guys, mind a tag along?

It's been a few years since I've done any "proper" 4x4ing since my last car just wasn't up to it anymore and it took a while to get my new one!

I've only been up the area you're talking about once before and didn't stay anywhere, instead headed past Flea Creek and worked my around back on to Long Plain Road (apparently the gate is locked by a farmer or something?). Then just had a look around the huts etc and came home via Cooma since my son was going to be late for work. Still a nice days drive.

Anyway, I figure this would be a good opportunity for me to get back into the swing of things with others around in case I try something that I probably shouldn't be trying on my lonesome. I also don't really know many people in the Canberra area but not afraid to make some new buddies.
