I use a 150W modified sine wave for laptop, charging batteries and 230VAC Flouro - all with no problems off the cig lighter and runnin ghte engine makes no difference. I also have a 12V adaptor for one of my laptops that screws up the PC when the engine is running so I don't use that now. By screws up the PC, it does weird things

Wasting your rime and money with a 65 w invertor for the laptop buy at least 150 but 200 would be the best.

Agree with grit, you will need a true sine wave inverter not a modified. Laptop OEM should be able to confirm if their power supply will work on modified or true sine.
