isn't one of the roles of the CV though to be a known weak spot. better that pops than your diff or something else up the drivetrain?
Ideally no weak spots is the preferred option. Diffs are very strong these days, I would prefer to do a uni joint on the drive shaft, ( which would be the next weakest link) At least they are cheap, and easy to fix on the side of the track if you had to.
