Nearly got me on the Recaros in November. Once you go down the dark path you may never come back.

Warning, once you have the Recaros in (it's only a matter of time) I'm going to tell you how well they work with my console / armrest from Dept Of Interior in Carlton in Sydney.

Yep, do the same when filters, oil, coolant, etc are on sale, buy enough to last at least till I think the next good sale might be.

I bought the brake pads as they have a much higher friction coefficient than anything on the market, that come in the size. Let’s see if it’ll make a difference. I’ll gumtree the OE LC78 brake pads with only 8K km. I don’t really keep spares as I do not do my own servicing (no real tools).

No new modifications being made here….just “finishing”.

I sold my KickAss Power Station and EcoFlow River dual battery setup. Needed something with a little more to run an electric heater for winter camping. Needed better inverter. I also didn’t want Li-ion and changed to LiFePO4 300Ah.

At the same time, I decided to put a permanent floor with basic shelves (carpet all wood). I had experimented with the layout with the decking slats so time to finish it off correctly.

Don’t do wood auto carpeting whilst sitting on the lounge. A slip of the Stanley knife and the afternoon is wasted at the ED.

You wasted an arvo at the ED? Shoulda just taped it shut with masking tape ( cause it's easier to get off later) and got back to work! There's more mods to get done!

You forgot the couple of drops of superglue to hold it together, I used superglue and tape several times in my previous life as a panel beater

Difficult and time consuming. Lucky I only ever have to do this once. Stretch carpet doesn’t stretch that much.

Floor sits on the vinyl. Front and rear floor plywood will be joined with two pieces of wood.

The single bed platform remains the same, two pieces of plywood each piece mounted on 90L storage box (long edge opening) with support legs for overhang sections.

It means lockable storage in the 90L boxes and open storage space between the boxes.

Bed is behind driver side and a shelf for the oven, fridge, inverter, DCDC on the passenger side. The heavy battery is on the floor behind the passenger seat (better weight distribution).

This was previous temp test setup. Tested to meet my requirements so went ahead with the permanent solution.

I did change from Kings 7” Lethal spotlights to LightForce LEDs immediately after snow season.
The spotlights were too narrow in its beam and the reflection from signs was annoying.
I haven’t used the LightForce LED on a dark highway yet. I like the combined light cover better. The light is also marginally less ‘white’.

*This was not a mod. It was done on the grounds of Health and Safety. It can’t be a mod if it’s H&S.

Anybody tried the Rockarmor Rear Bar with wheel and dual Jerry can holder?

I don’t need the recovery points as I already have the Toyota tow-bar. The Thorburns looks to be best but the Rockarmor bracket mounting looks solid for my needs (water carry, wheel and Maxtrax carry).

The monstrosity has arrived. It is not a rear aero wing but it will add down force to the back to take the harsh ride out of the Troopy. Settling the back will help with traction and thus improve safety.
