How much for diff locks?

Ive got a feroza,

wanting to improve its performance a little, it becomes quite useless the moment two wheels lose traction.

How much does a diff lock usually cost?
Also, if I can only afford one, should it go on the front or the rear?
(redbook.com says I should have a limited slip differential on the rear, but there have been times when Ive been stuck and only one of the rear wheels was spinning but the other was stationary)

Cheers,
Dave.

Stock suspension.
Boguht the car a few weeks ago and it has four relatively new (1 year old now) tyres, Maxxis A707, cant find exact ones on the Maxxis website, but i think its like a H/T tyre. The spare is a dueler H/T.

if it has the same diffs as the rocky, you could be in luck as there is a detroit locker for this model, if the diffs are different then you are out of luck.

front and rear diff lock will set you back at least $3700. $1600 a set plus a compressor. the compressor will also fill your tyres so 2 for the price of one. that's what i was quoted supplied and fitted from ARB.

if you have alimited slip diff in the rear a little trick you can try is to engage the handbrake only by a couple of clicks, this can fool the LSD and drives both wheels almost like a locker. Works on my lsd in my 4 runner.

Just recently purchased a compressor from supercheap auto valued at $160, 72L/min, that may be able to do the job.

Wow, didnt know lockers cost that much, may have to wait another year or so before thinking about that.

Get reasonable tyres and suspension first, then if you really want to be hardcore and poo over croozza's prado then get airlockers:p

But yeah they do a difference, I'll upload a video and post it up and see how they work lol.

Goodluck mate,

Here's a short video lol, now if I didn't have a set of good tyres or a decent suspension I would never get on top of the other path. Remember to do these mods first, airlockers last :).

First attempt, front airlocker, 2nd attempt, rear air locker. When rear locker is engaged you can see the difference of the Left hand side rear tyre spining and ready to kill some traction,

YouTube - GU Patrol testing out F&R lockers

Good luck mate,
