That had to hurt.

Nice pictures.
Wasn't sure where I was at that point. Didn't leave Coober Pedy until about 11am and it was a fairly long drive via Finke. Shorter route via Oodnadatta might've been a better choice. Couple of beers and a feed of fish and chips when we got to Mount Dare significantly lessened the blow.

Thanks.

Camp on the WAA line (like this photo).

And again, camping without fire.

Pre dawn on the WAA line. Worthwhile getting up for, every day. Bonus is it's cool.

Broken camper on the WAA line (literally). Not abandoned. Pick up had been organised.

One of the spots we needed to have a couple of goes at on the WAA line. There was fair bit of life about, as the footprints show.

First big salt pan we had to cross.

Bit of camera trickery at the start of Knolls track.

Started to see a few more trees on Knolls track. Was a good fun drive.

Camel footprints. They're out there somewhere.

The marker was originally in the middle of the lake near by.

Cordillo Downs. We were driving through the property for about 2 hours.
How to build a shearing shed if you don't have wood and you're not mucking around (built in 1883). Was nice and cool inside despite the high 30 temps outside.

Harsh country, but good for preserving old rigs.

Innamincka Regional Reserve delivered a few wildlife highlights.

These fellas were lounging all over the road when we came around the corner. Took a few takes to work out what the hell they were. Such an awesome surprise.

We caught up with fella just on dusk, munching on a massive roo carcass.

Saw a few big red roos and emus following this but didn't get photos.
Then to our surprise, just as we were crossing the Cooper Creek causeway on the edge of Innamincka, it was covered in turtles.

Ah, memories, thanks again for sharing. Will be back in Innamincka in August hopefully
Excellent. The temperatures will be much nicer then. We allowed 5 days to cross the desert but only took 4. It wasn't like we were pushing it either, sitting under the limit of 40km during the whole crossing. It was just that we had to limit the time outside the car between 9 and 4 because it was so hot, so we ended up driving for most of that.
