HI and welcome Brownie. This is a great forum for getting help with all sorts of 4WD things. Some great people willing to share their knowledge and experience! You will be having an interesting year ahead with planning the big move and anticipation of what lies ahead - especially 'out bush' on the tracks! All the best for your preparations and moving, and for your trecking around Oz! Millsy.

Hey brownie, where in Vic are you heading? I grew up in the Gippsland area, now am in West Aus. Have to say it was the best thing my folks could have done. Too cold down there for my liking

HI DavidMichie. We will be staying in Lilydale with friends until we get a feel for the area, Not to sure if we will stay in Lilydale for good. It all depends where I can get work as I am an Air conditioning
mechanic.

Hi Brownie,

Another Pom here, we are in Ferntree Gully which is not far from Lilydale but we actually started out in Chrinside park (next door to Lilydale) 5 yr ago,

You will love it over here and will find work easy in your trade but you will proberly have to re-sit test etc to get your licence you will also need a dissconnect / reconnect electrical licence (used to be called the S licence) but a lot of firms will help out with these at the start check out SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site

you will love the high country as is about as differnt from Kent as you can get think the lake district then add HUGE trees less roads and less people,,,,, oh and less lakes;), feel free to get in touch if you ever need advice / help with the move etc

don't worry about what those westerners say
Victoria is God's own

When you get here expect cooling rather than heating:D:D

Look forward to the ashes watching the matches from the colonies at 12 am on-wards

my shed and fridge always open only about 10 minutes away from Lillydale

be wary only gets to 10 degrees c in melb

a pool and hopefully warm companionship on welcome when you get here

Post a pm if you want want to catch up
