Hi all, just ordered a new off road camper and found you guys searching for info on 12V solar, fridges, generators and other camper options. I have a 93 troopy and my offroading has been limited to the west coast, nortern goldfields and kimberley. I live in Mandurah south of Perth and have planned another trip up the west coast starting next easter in my new camper. I plan to take my time, taking 3 months to get to Broome and then after a month on Cable Beach its off to Kununurra via the Gibb River Rd. After that I'm not sure, maybe through the middle to Melb if I haven't destroyed the camper or my bank balance.
Cheers, Dave

Hi & welcome to site.I used to live at Margaret River for a few years, then Scarborough Beach,North Beach(all in Perth)but have been to the Mandurah Crab Festival a couple of times & surfed down there, not a bad spot! You will find some great 4wding & camping around WA,been up as far as Kalbarri in the north to Kalgoorlie, down to Esperance,Albany & lots in between.Do plan on doing more exploring over there one day!!! Sounds like your in for lots of fun.:)

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Can't wait to get going north, but can't complain as I have a West Australian summer to enjoy before I leave. Don't pick up the camper till Jan but have 4 months to research camp oven delights (I already do a great date damper), and plan my kit (I promised myself I'd write down a plan of where I stash everything in the troopy/camper, its amazing how the memory goes as we mature). I'm sure 4x4earth will be a great source of knowledge and inspiration, plus it allows me to fantasise about the trip.
Cheers Dave
