Hey guys.
I have a Nissan navara d22 str 2.5l 2012 model. I'm looking at upgrading my stock exhaust to a 3". Now here is where I'm stuck do I go with the ironman bigbore or do I go xforce, and secondly will I need to have my turbo upgraded. From a few of the boys I have spoken to they say no. Your help will be awesome with this thank you

Replacing the zuast will have no effect on the turbo causing you to replace it.

Not sure about the ironman zuasts actually not t sure about anything ironman to be honest.
Beaudesert would be a better choice IMO

Hey Benno,

Just wanted to confirm, your stock turbo will be fine with our Big Bore Exhaust.

The bigger exhaust makes a huge difference, so whichever way you choose to go, enjoy the extra power and torque!

Hey mate

I've done a 3" without replacing turbo - they just match it with the Dump pipe, I went to Liverpool Exhaust to custom mine really happy with it. Didn't install a chip on mine.

if you don't mind a custom job you might want to consider it

I got my 3" done by local exhaust guy. Was less than $600 and didn't even have to worry about fitting it, cause hw did. Worth checking out prices to fabricate one up. As if it's fairly straight forward you'll get a good price.

Make sure you get an exhaust with a cat converter if you already have one on your vehicle. The fines for removing them are significant to say the least...

That's pretty decent! Is that mandrel bent? Stainless/mild/aluminised steel?

I just recently had my GU installed a custom 3" same shop

for mine it cost me $900 because it is my second time from the shop

I got a dump, 100cel diesel cat, Hurrican muffler and mandrel bent
each section has a flange so I can take it off if I want to or replace
a part

I had a 3" mandrel bent fitted to mine and made a hell of a difference! mine was fitted by scotts rods in Ipswich for $750 including big dump pipe! left the cat in but will be removing it as it's not compulsory on my model vehicle.

I am interested in doing same thing, has anyone fitted extractors when they did the 3" system, is it worth it?
Cheers,
Monaro

+1 for Scotts Rods, I had mine delivered and fitted it up, perfect fit, no mods required, no drone and not overly loud. The boost comes on so much sooner and smoother!!!

Sorry, 3" system for a 2.5l diesel D40. Every sounds good but has anyone fitted extractors?

So, I have a 2001 D22 ZD30, so, if it works on the 2.5, will it work just as well on mine????:rolleyes:

Or is 3" too big?

3" is great on a ZD30 D22, only issue is running a 3" dump pipe on a D22 means that if you get flex/movement out of the gearbox it can impact on the exhaust (it's a tight fit). I'd be looking at a 2.5" dump going into a 3" as soon as you have that little extra clearance.

(*** Note: Ironman 4x4 don't do a exhaust for the ZD30 D22 - we only do one for the 2.5L - this feedback is based off my own experience with a mates D22)

Cheers,

Hey,
I have purchased a 2004 D22 Navara which has a 3" exhaust and the turbo has also been upgraded from stock. The car drives really loud and is gutless AF. Can anyone suggest what I need to do to fix? Downgrade the exhaust or turbo maybe?
Thanks
