Gday Matt and welcome from across the country in Toowoomba, Queensland :)
What's the driving and touring like over there? Gotta be a good place?

Hi Matt and welcome to the forum. Friendly bunch here, and all keen to share and learn. Look forward to hearing about your adventures around the Pilbara.

Used to live in Hedland in the early 50's, in a tent on the side of the river apparently, when I was just a toddler. And about 5 or 6 years just 'up the road' at the Bar. Also Wittenoom, Broome, Yalgoo and Meekathara. Keen to get back there, from Adelaide, in my old fourby one day. Just hope the price of petrol and LPG doesn't hit the roof and make the trip impossible, before I am ready to go. Quickest way would be north from Kalgoorlie, but still a big drive! Return trip just to to Albany, on LPG, cost me $600 a few weeks ago.

Cheers for all the posts guys, makes ya feel real welcome to a new site.

Yeah Stampy - the touring is excellent, i love being able to drive 5mins out of town and not being able to see anything else except the dirt and hills in the distance. I love it up here.
For some of the more serious 4wd work if your looking for something other then beach work and running up the creek beds, you gotta check out places like Karijini National Park, otherwise most of the country up here is fairly dry and lends its-self more to that particular style of fun.
Bit of rock work, sandy creek beds, dealing with spinefex.
