Hey Everyone,

I have recently brought myself a 2004 Holden Rodeo, it is very exciting. I have joined up to hopefully get some pointers and ideas on 4x4ing as i have recently attempted it myself and had a great time but i got stuck, which made it more fun but i'd like to learn not to, lol.

I am on the Sunnie Coast/Brissy =)

Thanks!

Hi Miss Rodeo! Welcome! Try getting some recovery gear, when I first started out I was in a brand new Nissan Navara 05 (at the time). First I bought some recovery gear, very important! winch, snatch straps, etc about $400 bucks for a decent kit! Then try putting a bigger lift in the car! The boys will start looking, then some big arse Muddies! (I stuck with the simex centepedes) Then the boys will really look! The days become more exciting as you can do a lot more tracks! Although I have never lifted a Rodeo these projects can be expensive (especially if the car is IFS- Independent Front Suspension) but enquirer and it may surprise you! Take care and get bogged you'll only get better!

Hey Miss Rodeo,

Anothe good thing to do is find some peopel to go wheeling with. You can learn from there experience and they can help pull you out when you are up to your axels in it :)

Have fun!

Welcome aboard MissRodeo. We would love to see you at the meetup in July. Check out this thread.

As for the lift kit, if you really decide you need one talk to Zordo. He's one of our Brisbane members and does suspension lifts. I really think a lift kit is unnecessary unless you find your vehicle is unable to go where you want to. Give it more time and more trips until you decide.

Cheers

Cliff
