Has anyone got a set of GU Patrol rims they want to get rid of. Early model type (Steel Rims) for my '99 Model Patrol. Want to use them as a spare set to put Muddies on.

Thanks

Give Patrol-a-part a ring. They are in Bates Close Pakenham. Rims were $85 a pop a month or so ago.
Would stick the number up but dunno where I put his card. Let him know you heard about him from this site too. bit of pr doesn't hurt!

didn't the early model have problems with cracking rims, would be better offf with aftermarket steel rims, cheaper too.

No they didn't, no such thing unless you abuse the shit out of it.

I reccomend 80 series landcruiser rims, its much stronger, plus better offset and a hell a lot cheaper.

If you can't find any PM me your state and postcode and i'll find you some.

Can a Toyota 80 series landcruiser rim fit a Patrol? If so would they be cheaper than $85 per rim which a previous post has indicated.

Yes they can fit patrols, and yes they are cheaper than $85. Last time I bought a set they were around $45ea. Have a look around there must be a few in boostcrusing, 4wdA, landcruiser forums etc.

Good luck,

I'm sorry but I do believe you are incorrect in saying that, I have got quite a few mates that bought brand new GU patrols (the early ones) and all of them had cracked rims, none of them took them off road as they still had their old patrols to play with. This is why Nissan changed the style of the steel rim later on.

Seems to be a bit of 'shouting' going on for no good reason here:rolleyes:

This is the sort of stuff that causes blues, play nice you lot:eek:

As for cracked rims, yes, Nissan recognised the fault and replaced some sets-dunno how
many. Have a cracked one sitting in my shed now.

just read all the posts, I totally agree with croozza, Nissan changed the rims when they acknowledged the problem, since then they went to alloy wheels.
