GPS/Reversing Camera - Wireless

I have a wireless reversing camera from Swann and I wouldn't purchase a wireless even again. Get interference to easy, purchase a wired system. You normally have to run a power cable up the the device anyway, why not the video cable.

The unit you are look at appears interesting. Would ask about support if it fails, GPS map updates and see if you can get a camera that doesn't have IR. On hot days you only see white objects and that could be the road below you. I have my camera mounts up on the top left on my rear door looking over the bumper bar so I can see the distance between me and other objects.

Thanks bmurray. But i purchased one of the units acouple of weeks ago now. I've still got to hook up the wiring to the reversing light.

Please give your feedback on the unit, as I know others are looking for units simular to this. Is the GPS roads only or can it do tracks mapping also?

One recommendation is to have a bypass switch on the reversing camera, so you can monitor your trailer when driving down the road. As I installed the camera high on the Prado door is over looks the trailer and can check the load is covered and sitting well.

that one is a windscreen mount & wireless link to the camera, I read that you can have some trouble with them. I bought a double din fully wired unit on ebay it goes in monday, the same generic chinese brand I think, so I'll post some feedback after easter when I've had a chance to try it out.

Hi Rod,
Wayne (Beachbums) & I have been looking into those units for a while now & we are especially in terested in being able to load & run oziexplorer CE on them & using the raster maps.

Ozi should install via active synch & your maps can live on a SD card & you just load the maps from the card.

I have since bought a netbook (mini laptop) but Wayne is still interested in getting one.

Let us know your thoughts about the unit after you have been using it for a while

Cheers

Bri
