Hey Bushnut,

This will be the open forum for everyone. General trips will probably go in the trips/events area, but this area is for the pre planned trips that Grumpy and co are planning. We will see how it pans out and adjust if needed, but there looks like a lot of enthusiasm for it.

Cheers,

James

Agree totally with Bushnut. This will just be ideas for trips in the Gippsland/Latrobe Valley region. There will be no liabilty placed on 4x4earth or any of its members. If you damage your car or injure yourself, you wear it!! I dare say the people on the trip with you will assist where possible but nothing can be "pinned" on 4x4earth or members.

I also agree that this may still be a "sugar high" from Grumpy!!!

Exactly the basis the LOOSE NUTS GROUP work on although not area orientated, Area orientated would be good in an open forum . Grumpy's legions would be quite strong followed by Roscoe's secret society.

Calling them groups takes away the club connitation which most of us are not attracted to

Our method of advocating a trip is simply along the lines like this

" Simmo has cracked the sh!ts and needs to go bush, is heading of to Tawonga for the weekend of the 00/00/0000, he is planning to leave about 1 o'clock from Somerville "

By posting it in email form or simmillar it is not an invitation in by the letter of the wording.

By contacting Simmo and saying that you are coming , you are tagging along on your own violition .

Where would Frankston be in the scheme of things, I am only aware of Brads-GQ being in our area and another member in Seaford .

thats the basis we work on .

We have asked the forum for our space on the Club site , but to be an open forum , now that O'tooles has come and gone, it may get done, we are not a secret society !

I totally agree Bushnut, totally open forum where whoever wishes to do a particular run is welcomed along, And of Course nobody is twisting their arm so it's at their own risk.

Hey Grumpy

Nice idea, but don't we already have that feature here already, just not "regionalised"? Maybe Nickj is missing something. 3rd Rock forum have their trip section split up into states, is this what you mean?
Nick

My thoughts was to set it up as a way of doing runs but giving people the opertunity to plan as runs could be suggested say six months in advance and if u were at the departure location at a certain time u are obviosly interested in going.

Grumpy, youve outdone yourself! Fantastic idea. what sort of trips do you have in mind? i gathered from those locals i did get a chance to talk with at o'tooles do a fair bit of driving up that way whereas i go the other way towards boolarra and further where there are a few good camping spots with lots of tracks around for all types of drivers whether you want day trips overnight or longer. for others that are interested we are taking cptmud out for a run that way on the 22nd Nov.

The intension was for anyone planning to do a run and wanted company they would post in here, the other idea was to set say 3-6 runs in advance so as people could plan around it.

At this stage after looking at the Calendar the only oportunity I have for doing a weekend run is on Sunday 30th November, anyone got any suggestions for a day trip where ideas can be thrown around with say a BBQ lunch.

Sure there are plenty that would be interested out your way Rossco! Wouldnt they?

G'day Croozer.

That's a pretty safe bet. It's a fair way to go but we could always jump into the passengers seat and share things.

Cheers

My suggestion would be Burgoynes Track and lunc at the McAllister river. You head for Licola from Heyfield but turn off to the left about 12 KM's short of Licola, I 'll stand corrected on that but its a challenging track .

I think u would actually be better off going down the staircase from the other side Bushnut rather than going up it, have you heard of Royal Standard Track just up from Fidlers Green just above Aberfeldy, a mate was there last week and reacons it's historically speaking worth the trip. You wouldn't need to stand corrected on that one Bushnut it's a great track especially the run down thru McAllister Gorge and up past the heli-pad.

Now Grumpy you should call it what it really is... place of employment! Unlucky to miss out on that one we will have to find some more adventures out that way for when you can make it.
