The NSW Annual Meet is on again in Turon National Park. As some would be aware we organised a couple of working bees out that way last year and we now have a bit of a relationship with Parks in the area.
Last year we installed and re-installed damaged tree guards in Gardens of Stone NP. Ranger Dave has asked us to come out and check on them again as well repair some fences and removed some overgrown vegetation. This basically means banging in some stakes around trees and along fence lines. If you have a stake driver or lump hammer please bring it along.
We will probably need chainsaws for the vegetation clearing too.

If you needed a reason to come we will be getting access behind locked gates in the National Park. This is not an area most get to enjoy.

In true 4x4Earth style we will turn this into part working bee part trip. The more volunteers we have the quicker we will get it done and get to the 'trip' part of the weekend. Turon NP is a short drive away, so is Glen Davis, Dunn's Swamp and Lake Lyell. Depending on numbers we will likely end up and one of these destinations for the saturday night camp or we may just camp at the site of the work. There will no doubt be a group heading out friday night too.

So come on 4x4Earth let's prove what quality people we are. This sort of work is regularly done by 4wd clubs but they are usually small in numbers. I know we can do better and this will only benefit 4wders everywhere.

Ranger Dave has advised that trailers are not suitable for the track to the tree guard area. I hope no one is bringing a camper.

Saturday night camp location is TBC, however, we will most likely try for Dunn's Swamp.

As with all Earth trips all are welcome. Kids included. As we will be working in the National Park no pets unfortunately.

Was more of a barrel-roll than a backflip... but hey ;)


My arm will still be in a sling and I won't legally be able to drive again yet either, so that puts me out this time :( looks like I'll be missing a good turnout too. Wouldn't have been much use with 1 arm anyway!

Could have just stood there and held the star picket while Toddy hit it with a sledge hammer....... hmmmmmm what could possibly go wrong.
