Fuel efficiency on a 2016 single cab Ford ranger 3.2L 4x4

Alright so I’m fairly new to all of this and I’ve just bought myself a 2016 Ford ranger. My question atm is I’m getting around just under 600km per tank. From what I’ve read it should be getting around at least 850km per tank. I don’t believe there is much weight on my single cab Ute to drag the fuel efficiency down. I’m just wondering if this is normal or there might be any underlying issues with my vehicle

I can’t answer for your specific vehicle but does it have any modifications ?
Things like Tyres and bullbars can easily cost you a couple of litres per 100klms

Remember it diesel its not unleded
Good for long run
The way you drive affect fuel efiency too
Like @Albynsw said all the accsories effect fuel economy too.
3.2l ranger avg 9.5l fuel

Mine never did any better than that but did worse quite often. Any weight, wheel size, air con, speed, roof racks will all knock it down. A bullbar costs nearly 1 litre per hundred on a hilux - we’ve been watching one at work that just got done. Doesn’t take much.

When I had the 2017 3.2 Ford Everest the best I could manage from it was 10 point something. Never the claimed 7+ as advertised. That was stock standard no added weight and owned from new to 70,000 kilometres.

I took the bullbar, sidesteps, brush rails, rear bar work off, removed the wing mirrors, took the rooftop tent off, removed the draws/tools, put it back on stock tyres, took it for a drive round the block, guess what? the bleedin diesel tank overflowed,

Px ranger with lots of gear, 265,75,16 maxxis razrs, getting about 14l/100k, driven like there's an uncooked egg between foot and go pedal.

Canopy
Bar
Spotties
Side bars/steps
Winch
Alloy roof rack
Under vehicle protection and recovery point
Long ;) range tank
One set of drawers with gear in it
Recovery gear

Some heavy stuff in that list.

I've a 3.2L 6sp manual dual cab BT50 with a bar and an alloy tray and 265 75 R16's. The dash says I'm getting 8.8L/100km, but the fuel pump and odometer says its closer to 9.5-10L/100km and my driving is mostly highway running.
I don't accelerate hard, but do the speed limit... and a bit.

@Marley999, where are you getting the figures from??

Probably some factory stats website that stated this is what consumption was with a new, bear bones vehicle & probably with a near empty fuel tank!

Once it leaves the showroom it will never be the same.

As others have mentioned whatever you add to the vehicle the numbers drop.

Even if you add nothing & put on AT's the number drops due to more resistance on the road.

If I am driving on the highway I always use cruise control, at least it will be a bit easier on fuel due to being better on acceleration than my foot is ;)

I noticed with my hilux, that it gets better economy with the canopy on it. I think the empty tub creates aerodynamic drag,

Aero makes a huge difference. My little 4wd tip truck had a full cage/rops setup. One time I put 15 lengths of timber joists on the roof for a job at Teewah and it ran better on the highway than ever even with the extra weight.

A bloke at work has a 3.2 rear wheel drive single cab with an alloy tray and constantly gets under 9L/100km. (Completely stock car).
I have a 2015 3.2 4x4 dual cab. Standard, except steel bars front and rear + roof rack and it did 9L/100km.
Now with scrub bars, side steps, 32's, steel tray and alloy canopy it averages 12L/100km. My average speed is 80km/h but the car spends a lot of it's life at 110km/h+.

My px is old only had metal bull bar and flatform rack, awning and long range tank when empty tub always get 8.3/100km
from home to exmouth with tub full off camping stuff 1300km stop at manilya another 100Lt to fill it up (this with tail wind)
One time have to tow campertrailer because mate breaking down at northhampton the avg up to 8,8lt
Most journey using cruise control it just damm straight line road with lots of wild goat
