How many of you here use it??

What you think?

I thought I would give it a go after a member here very recently mentioned it in a fuel consumption thread not to long ago ( can’t remember which one)

Anyway. I had some supercrap credit about to expire, so I bought a bottle.

It says to shock treat your tank for the first time , less second time, less third time etc. 500ml I think it was for up to 100 litres. I put 400ml to about 150 litres.

Anyway. The shock wasn’t “ shocking “
My first thought was, hey my car is a lot quieter. Less of the CRD rattle noise

Can’t comment on efficiency. Too many variables like a whole new tranny rebuild, weekend 4wd, towing, new engine oil.

That said. My car hasn’t run low to mid nines before. Either my scan gauge is out from the gearbox shop unplugging it. Or everything has improved the car

Though about it but never had the need to really.
I'd give it a go every now & then just to combat water/moisture in the tank more than anything else.

Would be interesting to here from other users though!

Not used it. I would however not discount giving it a go. @Cokedaddy216 has recommended it so much, he's lucky he a Penrite fan!!:p

but used another product that I would highly recommend to anyone Liqui Molly Diesel Purge Plus, used as per directions : disconnect fuel lines supply and return, jamb them both in the tin, start/run till the tin is empty recirculating just what diesel is in the pump with the Kickapoo Joy Juice in the tin.

Injectors were as noisy as a Rodeo and as annoying as a crow at 4am due to a minor error fitting a timing belt [cough], if they were not screwed in one would have said they were about to fall out. One can of sniff, took 10/15min to run through, noise gone, back to purring like a kitten on sardines.

Many get into the ''Make Your Own'' then the fight starts, it must be "********" or it should be "#######"... while I have made my own, many years ago, from what could be considered 'questionable' substances, placebo effect or not, I did think it worked.

No problems with water in fuel? A see through filter bowl, nill zip narda in it, ever?

I use it. I did the shock treatment on my Discovery 2 (TD5) with about 345000km under the wheels and noticed an improvemet (albeit minor) in response and economy. With a 98L tank it is only 25mls at each fill for maintenance and perhaps a little piece of mind.

Here is a bloke giving what appears to be an independant review and on both diesel and petrol.

And here is Fuel Doctor giving you a demo.

I know Fuel Doctor treat large storage tanks for algae and water contamination so why not my little tank.

Each to their own, use it, don't use it.

I also faced such a problem. I bought a KIA Sportage 2020, and the consumption of fuel was enormous. I checked on cararac.com for what consumption I should have, and it is considerably higher than it should be. I have a normal way of driving, and I am not driving fast and aggressively, so there is no way I could have such a high consumption. I went to the dealer and asked them what can be wrong, and they made an investigation into the fuel system of my car. They found out a crack in the gas tank. This crack was causing fuel loss.

That demo looks impressive - but I have to ask...
Where did the water go? It's apparently not on suspension, but it's also not evident in the bottom of the bottle.

how much fuel so dirty it wrecks your engine have you actually encountered in complete seriousness
You're on the money there - the last big problem I've heard about was when Nullarbor Roadhouse had unleaded put into the diesel storage a few weeks ago. This stuff wouldn't save you from that.

Over 7 years with a clear sight glass on a filter, not once in that time have I seen water/rust/dirt/algae.

Old Yellow though, it had the same sight glass and visible rust flakes from the tank were observed, I suspect it had done the wins safari with a horse float and been through a Charleville flood.

I've been lucky never had any bad visibly dirty diesel like you see in some books or videos just a little water in the bottom of the bowl.
