Hey I’m about to change my front diff oil in my 2012 SR hilux but I’m unsure which oil to use. I’m not sure whether my car had ADD or not?

What's the ADD stand for? I'd be going with a GL-5 spec, and 75W-90 or 80W-90 viscosity. Any of your chosen brand would be fine with those specs

All recommended fluids are listed in your owner’s manual

Automatic disconnecting differential. It’s Toyota’s way of making things more complicated than they really need to be. My old Hilux Surf had ADD - both kinds

Attention everyone!!

Yeah, Yeah I know I'm pointing the finger at a single brand of oils but, let's face it Castrol know what they're doing!

Follow the link and all will be revealed Grasshopper!

The only diff(erence) in oils will be whether it's open diff or LSD. Use the best you can afford, check that the breather is working properly
However! What's cheaper, the correct oil or an overhaul? :)

I just want to know that I'm buying the right stuff! That's another reason that I like the Castrol link. Even if you chose to buy another brand at least it shows the specs.
