Fishing Mishaps

How has he fixed the line to the hook? Looks like it's crimped on with something?
You get crimps with bigger leader packs quite often. I use a Flemish eye in the hook before crimping though. The little rubber ball is to stop a sinker running down the line and hitting it.
If I had to guess I’d say it was a pitch baiting rig for marlin/sails and old mate was probably trying to handle a bill fish when it went south on him. Those short gape 9175d hooks are forged too so he has an ordeal ahead.

Ouch.
Dam that's making my eyes water just looking at it.

If it wasn't for the nail Id just push it through & cut behind the barb & slide it out.

As it stands drink a bottle of rum & then just pull it out...………….........…...you wont feel a thing :p

I dont have a photo but when i was around 10 years old i went fishing at the queenscliff or warnambool pier (i remember it being like a big bluestome pier) and on my first cast i forgot to unclip the line to free it up and when i cast the line the squidjig came back and hooked me in the chin lol

Im no fishermen... but i love barra's ;)
