Now after a 4wd trip through Bunyip State Forest ( up black snake etc) then across to Neerim State Forest i decided to show a mate Chinamans Hut off Hi Tree rd.They hav been in with grader which makes it easier i guess (easier for ferals to get in)..As we drove down in there was a fire that was still smoldering and no one about,Rubbish everywhere (broken bottles,crap paper,litter etc etc).We stopped and had a swim in the pool area and decided to eat elsewhere because of the state the place was in.We drove Hi-tree Extension,Stoll rd and then up Hard Up Haul Track along Beards and then out to the Hawthorn River Crossing.We came back about one km and down to the river at a camp area.Well what a lovely place had it not been trashed with rubbish,broken bottle etc etc.My mate hopped out his car and walk towards the river and bang,he stood in human faeces ..Reckon you could hav heard his swearing back in Melbourne..Why do people do this..I got out the cooker etc looked to my left and a huge pile of used crap paper (not buried etc etc)..

This is why areas get shut down and would like some suggestions as to how to reduce this bad behavior...Theres got to be answers,maybe where they employ like traffic inspectors for the bush,taking number plates from campers and revisit the area after they leave,its quite possible there wages could be redeemed through increased fines....I hope all the members of this site next time out thinks about what you take in you take out and if you need to go do number 2's bury it deep...

That is bullshit, people like that should be made to clean it up and eat their crap!!!!:mad::mad: At Moondarra Campsite, they have a ranger that comes around once or twice a day to check things out, keep a lid on bike riders and makes sure that ALL rubbish is picked up. They do take number plates so they can get you later.... This is a great idea, and worked well for that area. Although a small area, a similiar excercise can be undertaken for larger areas, just maybe once a day. Have really big fines for the idiots, and thats wages paid.......;);):D:D

I go camping with up to 8 kids, and before we leave, the whole family does a emu bob in case we have left something behind. Before we setup camp, we use phones to take a couple of pics of the area, and then compare before we go and do the emu bob. ALL rubbish is taken out. We have even taked out rubbish that was not ours. I dont see how this is too hard. It is just pure laziness, or a bugga it attitude. One or two fines that would choke a camel will either change their attitudes or give them a second thought about going out again. Maybe we can keep them out, GOOD RIDDONS........

If I see someone leaving, and there is rubbish behind, I have no reservation about rocking on over and asking them to take their rubbish, and if they dont, then read them the riot act. Generally one way or another I get the point accross. My kids have also spoken to other kids about rubbish, for which I am proud of them. They have been taught to take care of our Aussie Bush, and to respect all flora and fauna.

My 2 cents......:cool::cool::cool:

Hopefully River Swaggie all the members of this forum have far more respect for the Bush and it's surroundings, I know for a fact that the group I travel and camp with do and often take the time to make sure a camping location we use is left far cleaner when we leave than it was when we arrive.
It would indicate to me that they have no or little respect for others who may be wishing to camp after they leave.
I wonder what they would do if arriving at a camping area to find such filth, would they just move on and curse and swear and forget that they used to leave camping areas the same way.

Every time we go out we end up bringing back bags of rubbish that isn't ours. The ferals responsible for this should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. When you see the fines for littering in these areas they are quite expensive. If you ever see anyone leaving an area in this state just grab their rego number and call the local authority. We need to get rid of these losers before they get every area closed to all of us.

there is a camping spot not to far from me called andersons gardens it has a creek flowing through, fire place keeped area to put up tent tables and seat under shelter and even a set of crapers with three walls and a door bring your own paper no its to far to walk for them they do it all over the place and leave it there for the next person to find and clean up, THESE types of people should be caught and made go back and clean up then be banned from places like this they ruin it for the rest of us that do give a rats about the places we go to

Unfortunately the full extent of the law is a slap on the wrist!

The laws need to be changed, maybe, make it a $5000 fine for each piece of litter, might even stop the smokers flinging cigerette butts out and causing bushfires.

Thanks Guys,Sorry would have taken photos but gave my camera to girlfriend for her Bali trip,Then she went and bought one that capture's HD Video (bloody women)...I know some guys on this site visit these areas and hopefully they can write a few number plates down and take pictures of trashed areas,you can forward them onto me here if you like,the more onboard the better,having cleaning up the bush days just rewards the Feral's bad behavior...I am going to contact the local Park Ranger to see what can be done and maybe write to the revelvant people higher up in the chain of command.I know things take time,i am sick of whinging about it so will take action until it feels i am banging my head up against the proverbial wall...

we ran into a similar situation when we went to Bendaethra camping ground. we videoed some idiots wrecking the camping ground. On our way out we stopped off at Goulbourn police and left a copy. To this day we dont know if anythings been done about it. The video showed the rego of all cars involved.
