Dual battery system

Hi all just a quick question I have a Dual battery system to run my fridge if I take the fridge out will it overcharge the second battery with nothing running of it cheers Mack

The answer is simple...no,
When the battery voltage drops to around 13.5 Volts, the alternator will be turned on (connected to the battery). This will cause the battery to charge until it reaches around 14.5 Volts, at which time the alternator will be turned off (disconnected). That's what prevents the battery from being overcharged

The alternator runs all power for the vehicle through a regulator. If you aren't cooking starter batteries, then the regulator is doing its job and you won't cook the 2nd battery.

An AGM will only accept the amps it needs, it will boil at too high a voltage but the regulator controls that.

G'day Mack, welcome to earth mate, you should be right - I only used mine for the fridge while camping the rest of the time it just filled up space under the bonnet, never had any issues with it.................
