Drifta are doing sun shades for individual makes. They are a bit expensive first up ,but with such a quality product I feel that they are a great buy.

An internal sun shade doesn't work for me because of what I have mounted to the windscreen. I reckon an external shade like this would be perfect.

How expensive is expensive? Want to hope they are secured to the car well otherwise they might be easy for scabs to lift.

Drifta is overpriced garbage in my opinion .
With regard to the OP , whats the difference between a Drifta sunscreen and a reject shop sunscreen ?
Enough money to fill your car up with juice is the difference , the reject shop sunscreen will do exactly the same job.
$150 for the drifta sunscreen , $15 for reject shop one .....drifta are taking the piss.

Agree Drifta is expensive... and overcharge on postage which is the clincher for me most of the time... But I do like their dedication to Australian manufacturing.

I like some of the Drifta stuff but they well and truly charge a premium. If you can source the same item elsewhere you will always save coin. I have quite a bit of their kit and am very happy with it but some of the stuff is just way over the top cost wise. They do have a dedicated following of addicts however. I have imported some the stuff they sell way cheaper.

As for the sun shade, some prick will just come a long and cut it off for giggles being on the outside.

The reason for the charge is that they are made to fit each particular car , IE , 120 Prado they will fit with a snorkel so that you do not have to go over the snorkel to fit on the windscreen.
I have purchased one and will give some feed back soon on whether they are worth the cost. They weigh in at 3kgs so they are definitely heavy duty. Yes at 150 dollars they are expensive but if they last ten times longer than the cheap one I purchased from Super Cheap that has split I feel it is worth the money.

Received the product now and its a very heavy screen unlike the cheap visors from all other suppliers. The fitment is slightly smaller than the window but it covers enough to keep the sun off. Due to the quality of it I'm going to put some Velcro on it to hold the solar blanket onto it as well . Definitely worth the cost for the quality of the product in my view. And we have to remember that it is built in Australia not China , that is why the product is so much more expensive. We don't get a bowl of rice for our days work .

Price is crazy. The snowpeak firepits are the same, must be about 90% profit on those. But some people like to spend money so good luck to them I guess.

The guy is a genius. He has marketing hyped so many people they forget the price. I agree, its great gear, but boy, his pricing structure leaves a sour taste. And hundreds pay it. You should check out the drifta fanbois FB page to see how many get hoodwinked ;)

It is made in Australia by an Australian worker. Unfortunately that cost money but good on them for keeping it local

If people are happy to pay why not, not that I have a lot of there gear but the stuff I have is good, purchased a few ratchet straps the other day $30 each there the best ones I have seen or used time will tell but confident they will go the mile look very well built.

He seems to be doing very well employs half the local town

Double check the prices on Snowpeak gear around the world... it's not cheap stuff as most of it comes out of Japan. Here's the prices in the UK https://www.tauntonleisure.com/snow-peak £160 for the Large Firepit... Drifta are charging $295 for the same... so about normal price.

In terms of their prices for canvas work, do you know that for a while leather and canvas workers were on the skilled migrant shortage scheme? That means that those who have good quality work can charge high wages... related to that, there are beginning to be higher wages out in the regions in a bid to keep people there instead of moving to the cities - especially given that the mines will pay big money for someone who is sober and drug free to work there...

In terms of the work done to make a bag, I reckon it takes about 2 days to template the first one based on the time it takes to get custom canvas work done locally here - and we have a good relationship with the saddlery.

Their canvas bags (doing a quick price check with our local saddlery for similar sized bags) are about 50% more expensive, so I'll stick to going to my local option!

Slightly different styles, but similar sizes. Our local one is a much simpler design which will help to keep costs down.
