I use OziexplorerCE on an unlocked Navman S30.

Works great, will soon get some serious use on a trip next week.

Still early days but I plan on downloading trips & viewing on Google Earth Topo.

Still have no detailed maps as yet. Hopefully soon.

This post is in the OziExp sub directory , it should be moved up into the GPS Forum to get a more accurate sample. I use OziExp even for preliminary surveying and subdivision design.

OziExp is the ONLY thing stopping me from converting to Linux

I've just started with OZI PC and CE. Haven't done much as I'm still getting used to it. Have a nice collection of maps on the PDA, and just learning how to do tracks. Will play with it a bit more when I'm out at Sweetwater Creek this weekend :)

Intend on leaving PC version at home, and doing everything with CE while on the road.

I am looking at getting both the PC version and the CE version I have tried the trial version to see if I could get it to run on my cheap Ebay GPS unit running Route 66, It runs better than Route 66.

I am using oziexplorerCE on my HTC touch HD and oziexplorer on a Desktop PC and a 10" Asus eeepc.
I also bought the HEMA map collection to go with it.
I use it for planning and moving map

I have used Oziexplorer for a number of years with my laptop and Garmin GPS to plan trips around Australia. It is very useful to work out distances to travel each day and finding places to camp, refuel etc. We use the moving map when travelling and was great help when travelling on tracks that don't get used much in the outback.

I use OziExplorer on a netbook mounted on my dashboard. I am running Hema, Auslig, Rooftop Festy and just about every other map around however I can't find anything decent for Queensland and have recently added Camps 5 to the waypoint log.

I also found a supplementary program that kinda piggybacks onto Ozi called OziPhotos. It sorts photo's taken using your digital camera, syncs with the GPS timestamp and enters the pic on your map/track. Great for those of us that always get home and eventually d/loads the photo's but forget exactly where they were taken.

I use it on a laptop linked to a 7" screen in the centre console.
I use it to plot the tracks I have been on already, and that way I can explore different areas without retracing my old steps.
It's great for a large area like the Mt Mee State Forest where it is easy to become disorientated, and if you haven't been there in a while and you have Alzheimer's and forget which tracks you have been down :)

We use Mapsource - came free with the Garmin. Same as most do most of the planning online, then upload the details to the GPS. Works a treat. As yet haven't worked out which has the greater advantage. Mapsource or OziExplorer.

RodW showed me a few tricks with the index database and you can find locations quickly by putting in a name. It is a powerful program and needs time to master it
