Gday, just brought a 2013 d40, im looking to replace to 255/65r17, highway tyres, whats the thoughts on going with a 265/65 r17 tyre. Or staying the same 255/65r17. There just seems more options with the wider tyres. Also looking at getting an A/T tyre. Cheers

Welcome to Earth.
When the width changes, it also changes the diameter. Make sure whatever size you increase to is legal and will fit without rubbing. No idea whether or not that effects you and your proposal.
With AT tyres, you sometimes have a choice of a Light Truck construction which has a stonger side wall.

I believe the D40 can legally go to a 265/70r17 or 265/75r16 in most states.

You can get a 33 under there but you will need a body lift in and engineering if you want to avoid a roadside inspection bill. Does knacker the gearing though.

I run 265/75r16 on my pathfinder and although it adds 1l to 100km it more than makes up for it offroad.
