Yeah, it opened my eyes a bit Alex, so many things to look at, some many tracks to drive and living in RockVegas, its only 2.5 days to Laura - from their you can head, east, west or north doesn't really matter. so many options so little time, can some body please give me next weeks lotto numbers Lol Any trips lined up for the big KK?

From Eliot falls we headed north along the OTT to Canal Creek which feeds Twin Falls then up to Sam Creek and then Mistake Creek. Here are a few pics of no name creek???

From there it was onto Cannibal Creek, where the mighty Tvan and Alex's Big KK, cruised through with out any challenges.

Just the regular weekends around the local area, (within about 2 - 3 hours drive of Brissy, twice a month) really enjoyed the cape though and your pics /commentary bring back some good memories and a couple of foggy ones too Ha Ha

From here it was onto Cypress Creek, the old log bridge. Nothing to challenging, although it did have a rather sharp turn to the right directly after the bridge. Made it a lot easier with Alex, guiding the way.

Then onto Logan Creek, which was probably longer and deeper than Nolans Brook??? No challenges, just stick to the right!

Then Alex and the big KK come through - no challenges at all. Great stuff

Finally after much banter and high expectations we reach the famous Nolan’s Brook. Prior to leaving Cairns I spoke to a guy from Sydney in a patrol with 35s and a 4 inch lift towing a camper and he drowned it in Nolan’s the week prior – and after reading of all the challenges that people had crossing Nolan’s on many forums I was sure we were in for an extremely challenging crossing. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sure it’s a little deep (not enough to wet the bonnet though), definitely not a very wide crossing, it did have some good access points to cross, which was a pleasant surprise. I have 85% reduction gears in low range, and first gear gets to around 3 -5KM per hour at red line. I crossed in first low and did not break 2000 RPM. Had no loss of traction, and the water was nowhere near the bonnet. Plenty of other guys crossed while we were camped their and the amount of guys I saw, axel tramping their rigs trying to get out and causing a truck load of wheel spin and movement of the sandy bottom was just amazing. People where hitting the water flat out in first and second making huge bow waves and just making it across, no water bra’s not letting tyres down, and not waiting for the water to settle. I can understand why people camp here for an extended period as the show was just amazing?

Once the Tvan made it across, Alex in the Big KK, came across - no major rush, just a nice controlled crossing towing twice as much as me. He just made it look all to easy. Unfortunately after a fantastic night, around the fire we parted ways the next morning.

Once we finished the Tele track we headed up to the Jardine River. It’s a lot bigger than we expected - almost as big as the mighty Fitzroy back in RockVages I was a bit surprised to see the cable that is strung from one side of the river to the other that the barge uses to propel its self, was not correctly terminated with the bull dogs grips. The saddle is supposed to go on the working part of the rope (the piece that goes across the river), and the U-bolt is supposed to go on the tail (the short end that loops back from the anchor point). The U-bolt crushes the cable and the saddle if put on the same way as the lay of the rope does not. Just being picky I know, BUT!!!

Once we crossed the might Jardine we headed to Seisia, for three nights to take in all the sights around the Tip. We found Seisia, to be a friendly town, with lots of horses just roaming around!!! The caravan park right on the beach was excellent, with a great shop/café and excellent amenities. The Jetty is only a 5 minute walk south, and although we did not catch any fish, we had a great time trying. A school of 5 Barracuda tried and tried again to smash my lure .... and the fish where this big .......... Lol. But seriously, their where Barracuda, and sharks and trevally and and and right under the jetty. Legend has it that one of the natives fell asleep on the beach next the jetty, and a big croc got him. Only his hat shoes and skid marks back into the ocean!!! The Seisia, sailing has an excellent BBQ on every Friday night with burgers from $5 and reasonable drink prices with a big screen music video playing. Lots of laughs and a great night. The sailing club is only a 10 minute walk from the caravan park. It was great hanging around the jetty of a night time watching the locals with the spears trying to get the squid coming up to the lights, something to remember From Seisia, we where able to visit all the great spots easily within a two hour drive of camp. After, a relaxing night camping, it was of to Punsand Bay and the Tip. Punsand Bay is really nice, a bit isolated from Bamaga & Seisia, but a nice place to unwind, beach was nice, and the camp ground seemed nice a spread out. They also have a fresh water swimming pool right next to the bar which I suspect would be rather relaxing come beer oclock :cheers:'. We stopped for a few beers and a bit of lunch prior to heading to the Tip.
The Tip!!! It is only a 15 minute walk from the car park to the tip, with plenty of rock mounds to build just that little bit higher, I found the Tip Spire to be interesting, just knowing how far away everything is from where you are. The other really different thing we noticed about staying at the Tip of OZ was the amount of rain scuds that come and pass in the course of a day. Setting the camera up, nice blue sky's, 2 minutes later , a rain scud, then blue sky's again You are probably sick of seeing my mug in a lot of the pic's, that is because my bride wont let me play with her flash camera gear, she only lets me carry it ??? How ever on this occasion I did sneak a pic of her setting the gear up for our cape pic's

Heaps to see around the tip - really enjoyed looking at all of the old WW2 bombers ect that crashed - really makes you reflect and appreciate what we have.

Muttee Heads - great little spot also with a lot of history to soak up.

Some really great old WW2 relics - very impressive
