Hi Guys,

Just reading the O'tools Thread and have seen a Mention that Bushnut was going to take Lime for the Dunny. Made me think I wonder what everyone does for a Dunny whilst camping. I understand it is a sh**y subject but it would be good to hear peoples ideas.

We have a folding dunny seat and a shovel with a long handle. Works for us but don't leave the dunny seat in the sun as it is black and you end up with a Famous Johnny Cash song problem. ;);) Good for beach camping - bit of a bugger in the bush

Cheers

YOBBO! You've got all the panache and culture of a petri dish! All the class of a public dunny! As much taste as fresh roadkill!

mmmm. My kinda subject!!

In Queensland, I believe it is illegal to "dump" in the bush! You must use a chemical toilet. Because we need to dump more chemicals into the system and the odd "cable" is going to do so much harm when buried???

Folding toilet seat from Woolworths $20.00 and a shovel works for me.

If had the misfortune of finding around camp sites where people have defecated next to the camping area and litter the place with used toilet paper. I don't think its that hard to dig a hole.

to right mate especially if its sand its not very hard is it but i wander if some times the hole just wasnt deep enough and the wild life has dug it up

Weve got a pop up toilet / shower tent and the Oz trail seat which has a nice wide footprint for the legs (not my bum) so there is no chance of the seat slipping into the hole, everyone in our family is fine using it just keep a bucket of sand / soil and a quick sprinkle each time keeps the smells away,,,

But I do hate the lazy Bas%$#ds who cant clean up after themselves, Last time we were up the Murray we had just got all set up when our dog come trotting round the tent stinking to high heaven !!!! so after she got a wash in the river I found a nice pile of stuff and paper that had been left behind a nearby tree,,,, Thank you !!! so then I had to dig another hole and bury somebody elses waste not how I wanted to start our weekend break,

Please what ever you use or were ever you go leave it how you would want to find it (if not cleaner)

ok rant over

Yep, there is something special about crapping in the great outdoors. When we are camping out on our block that is all we use. Mind you, we haven't been camping like that with the kids, so that will be interested next time we go out.

How old are your kids James? Mine are 8 and 5 and have been doing it most of their lives (only camping not at home;)) Very adaptable kids. Pain in the arse when they have to go in the middle of the night though.

Yeah, we've got a Jimmy's Thunderbox as well, with an OzTent CR-1 (Change Room Tent) for when we go long weekend camping. The kiddies (well, most of them) have no probs using it out in the bush. Easy to setup and takes up no space at all.
