IMHO Victoria is in a world of hurt, not because a Premier made some tough decisions, not because some bad decisions were made by the government but simply, and let’s just face the facts, a massive number of Victorians just couldn’t do the right thing by their fellow human beings. They were selfish and couldn’t give a shit about anybody else! That is why Victoria is in the pickle it is now.

I find your reason to be concerned, concerning.
A hospital is a place for the sick and injured. The most vulnerable in our community. A hospital does not need an infectious disease running rampant through its wards. They do not want any of those vulnerable people dying after catching Covid whilst IN HOSPITAL.
An unconscious patient arrives in an ambulance from an accident scene and the staff have no knowledge of their Covid history. The correct and only choice is to isolate them until proven they are not infectious. Yet, you are concerned.
The government had the heads up on how dangerous this bug is from the start, closing the gate after the horses bolted and then blameing the puplic.
Your never going to get 100% compliance, that's why we have law enforcement. Not a handful of renta cops sent to do an important job.
Look at whats needed now, and we're locked up like rats with really only a small overall rise in cases that the cauae could be questionable.
Yes 100%. but isolate them separately, for the interim. There been telling us how many extra beds they have.
Anyway none of that changes the current situation at all.
If people are catching covid by default being put in a covid ward, are the positive numbers a real and true reflection on cases and transmission? Which is what this lockdown is all about.

And yet the whole state follows like sheep even though our leaders are a total joke...
I suggest those who think this is the right way to go about things do some research, yep just hit google, ignore the likes of ABC news and look at death rates over the last 10 years from almost all countries, yep just facts and numbers not news.
Sweden for example, no covid shut downs, no permits to go to work, no friggen curfews, just some simple advise that if you want to wear a mask or at risk of serious complications isolate and wear a mask plus social distance, a large portion of the population has now had Covid 19 and there death rates now are close to zero.
I am sick and tired of the BS that mainstream media is pumping out and the way such a large portion of the population eat it up.
Maybe research who started WHO, that will keep some interested for a while, 5 major drug companies well who would have thought the biggest and most profitable companies on the planet would now be running the "pandemic" and will no doubt be the worlds saviors when they sell every human a vaccine shot.
Must be the only disease or virus ever known to mankind that our imune systems can not fight and create some immune response.
Sorry rant over its been a hard day and now after 3 weeks in a new job after only working 4 weeks in the last 4 months I have a stand down letter all because the old and critically ill may die from this virus exacly the same way they would die if they got any other major virus or lung infection

I.M.O. it boils down pretty much a decision about whether some (at lot of?) personal financial pain is worth more than a human life (appreciating all the arguments about whether saving lives now is a better alternative to longer term lives lost due to effects of the virus?)
Not such an easy decision if it is your life, or the life of a spouse or close relative or friend (?).
Part of me says this virus is a darn good thing if it wakes up the planet power brokers/leaders to our over-population. But that is a pipe-dream, so how about a bit more compassion for human lives is where I'm at. (Particularly if there is a general reduction in our standard of living,....because let's face it - we've been living way above a standard our planet can accommodate for years!)

Not worded well, sorry, financing, you need to dig pretty deep and follow a few rabbit holes, maybe I have spent to much time on the net, I wish I had kept some of the links I have found but will try and find them again to post up, I am sure I will have time over the next 6 weeks

Yep when you put it like that its pretty simple but you must also look at the lives lost, tragic because they are all loved family and friends but also keep in mind the age of those lost and the average age of people who die.
If you look at the big picture and all the facts then take all the emotion out of it there is no logic left to the argument.
Yep its tragic when you loose a loved one but old age is what it is.
Average age for a Aussie male is 80.7, average age death for a male who dies from covid 19? 80....

C’mon peoples. Stop blaming the government/s. Stop blaming WHO, the pharma companies or whoever else your conspiracy brain is blaming today.
You, and you alone, are to blame for the situation Victoria, and Australia, is in right now. You, that’s right, you. You were given a golden opportunity, a single chance, to keep Australia Covid free. We almost made it. But you couldn’t stay home. You couldn’t get tested if you had symptoms. You couldn’t stop going to the shops just for the hell of it. You just had to have that coffee at your favourite coffee shop and that beer at the pub. You couldn’t socially distance. You couldn’t even wash your hands.
Stop blaming everybody and everything for this situation. You blew your only chance. Now wear the consequences.
Oh, and I hope with all my heart that none of your loved ones lose their lives to this pandemic. That none of them have to die alone in an isolated, sterile hospital ward with no family around them. Nobody to hold their hand as they take their last laboured breath. To die without any comforting words from their loved ones. To die alone after they spent all their lives loving and caring for their family.

I don’t think We were consulted in the options for handling the hotel quarantine situation, but if we were given the option......

Privet company
or
ADF

hard decision I know........

prior to this did we have a high level of community transmission

how is New Zealand’s Covid-19 going ?
The reality is they would of had the similar number of people doing the wrong thing

The vast majority of people have followed the guidelines outlined by the government and authorities, the minority haven’t but that should not be a surprise, any modelling will show some people are not going to do the right thing.

Not at all making excuses for people doing the wrong thing quite the opposite they don’t deserve to be here in my opinion but we are here due an unprecedented pandemic that definitely could have been handled better.

The virus was almost gone , no community transmission it was looking like we had dodged a bullet . Bring on the branch stacking fiasco within the labour government and Dan and his cronies forgot about the virus and concentrated on damage control . Then employ people who have no training whatsoever to quarantine return travellers that had the virus , a bit of shagging and blind eyes taken for the infected travellers to shoot down to maccas for a burger . Then the green light is given for 10,000 people to protest , yes it was people who spread the virus and one egotistical imbecile that facilitated it all .

Not too mention no question time in parliament, due covid social distancing. Pretty handy to run your own agenda. But ha, you can still go to dan Murphy's.
Pretty handy work, DAN..
99% of the population want to do the right thing, ether not catching it or limiting the chance of spreading it, now we're treated like idiot caged rats having to write out and carry a pieces of paper with with a list of practices to carry out on-site like wash your hand regularly, sanitize every time you change tools. Here's a useless template to copy, well why bother. Just print them out and sell us one you idiot. Then change the work conditions daily and hourly like yesterday evening and setting a time frame in which you have to have completed it by 11.59 the same night.
Just a little pi$$ed ? Yes l am.

Na sorry mate that is the typical BS the government and big media outlets would have us believe, once again look at world wide numbers and the facts as they stand, then asses and use your own brain. It may take a little time to be able to re create the ability to think for yourself rather than consume the crap that we are all bombarded with.
I did my part, I follow all the rules and all the guide lines like a good little sheep because I as a single irrelevant person has no choice but to do so.
It was not me or the general Australian public who let it get out of hand, if it even is out of hand as they say, that lies solely at the feet of the Victorian government and there multiple incidents of incompetence and poor decision making
Due to the politically correct BS world we live in not one person has even had the thought let alone the courage to call out the population of certain ethnic and religious back ground that live primarily in a certain area which has caused a majority of this outbreak because they continue to gather in large family groups and religious centers without the government doing a single thing to stop the obvious

Hi mate
I wasnt buying it ,i couldn’t believe they had only tested a million people (the useless media we’re talking about how well we had done testing that many) by that stage, only a million i thought out of around 26 million Trump was ridiculed for saying test more and you’ll get more cases, Well that’s exactly what’s happened here.

From my understanding there saying a BAD FLU Season kills around .24% of the population, this has killed around .26 if this figure can be believed and they didn’t have other diseases etc .I agree they should have shut down agred care. Stop people flying in here. So one in his thirties has died and one in his 50’s the rest are in there 80’s and 90’s.
98% plus people recover.

Wait for a DEPRESSION millions will be homeless and die...

Here Here!

This problem has very little to do with the public, the stuff ups of Government are the sole cause of Victoria's dilemma.

"Permitted Worker Permit" It wasn't until 5pm the night before this took effect I realised I would require one to go about my work , with no idea what I had to do I rang a few mates in the building game , most were like me and had no idea this was required . I made a call to a mate who is a local copper to clarify what was needed , his reply was "He didn't know either" he told me to download and print off a copy , have it sitting next to you in the car , if you are pulled over politely show the officer your "permit" . It doesn't matter if it is filled out correctly or not as there is every chance the cop who pulls you over won't have a clue either .
