Just to let you guys know that i went back out to have another look around with my father in law... I truly think this area is fantastic area for 4wd'ing. The only drawback for mind is the lack of bogholes but most of the unmarked 4wd tracks are really quite challenging. There are some short but steep climbs which are rocky and need the driver to pick the right line. Unfortunately the handbrake left the camera at home so got no photos. I'm going to head out there again sometime in the near future for more track finding. Next time with my GPS to log the tracks as there are heaps more tracks out there than what is on the map.
As i have mentioned the tracks are challenging but my vehicle does not have diff locks... just the standard LSD rear, 2" lift and 33" cooper stt's. On a few of the tracks i was told that i was lifting tyres off the ground... how much i dont know.

G'day guys

I was at Cobaw on Saturday. The tracks in general were a good mix of rock and sandy top soil. Soil Pit Tk was the hardest we tackled with some large rock obstacles and tree rootes in one section requiring a couple of attempts by myself and a short winch by my brother in law. A bit more clearance and rear locker would have helped.

We saw two other vehicles, one groupd of bikes and a few hikers. So given its small size I thought it was pretty quiet.

We hope to get back soon to finish exploring the remainder of the park.

regards

Michael
