Great spot beanbag. Plenty of tracks to explore, and plenty of great camp spots to choose from, many next to the Chowilla creek, that has water in it, and plenty of birdlife, roos, etc.
Could be a bit boggy if they have had a lot of rain in the week before you go.
You turn off the main Wentworth Road, to the right, about 12 or 13 km after the bitumen ends just before the grand Bookmark Biosphere Information Bay, on the outskirts of Renmark North. Can be a bit hard to find in the dark, but I reckon its just before a stock grid at the top of a rise. Turn in here, and a couple of km down the track is the main entrance where they have an information bay, toilet, and I think an honour box where you pay your camp fees - $5 per car per night.
Whenever I have been in there I have not seen another car. You might have the place to yourself. Years ago I went on a school excursion up there. A canoe excursion. We camped right round near the border, I think near Lake Littra. It had plenty of water in it 15 years ago, but I guess it might be dry now. Not sure, you will have to have a look for me!
I will see if I can find the map of that park, showing all the tracks, and all the camp spots, that I picked up at the Berri Tourist Information Centre a few months back. Next time you're in 'town' you can drop in and pick it up. Will let you know when/if I find it.
