I was thinking that mabey 4x4Earth could do a drive for charity. Not sure if possible, but i was thinking with 2000 members there could be lots of money raised. Another forum did this not long ago for breast cancer.

Very good idea, i was involved in a run for pink ribbon day, we where filming it for our show. It not only raises money for a good cause , but shows 4wders in a good light, and we need all the good publicity that we can get.

I sure most members on here will support it. Good on you Offrdn60 for offering to organise an event.

Cheers

For the Brisbane guys Lordy has been thinking of a day for taking disadvantages kids on a run - he has gone away to look into the legalities of it.

We used to do a run for Canteen. In the end the legalities stopped it. It was great while it lasted. Everyone had a great day and the smiles on the kids faces was priceless!

We will see how Lordy goes with it.

A guy was trying to set up a national sids for kids run a few months ago I think they pulled it off but I beleive it was hard work for him.

I didn't go on that run but would have liked to.

Hi Offrdn60.

Great idea. Any progress yet (no pressure). Did you notice the earlier posts regarding a 'dog run' . That sounded alright.

Cheers

How about a run for Prostate Cancer. I know there are a few female members on here but majority are male and we are often overlooked in things like this.

You can all do your thing and donate to Movember which supports Prostate Cancer and Mens depression awareness.
Here's a link if you want to donate to my team. I am in the team with my 4wd Club.
https://www.movember.com/au/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink&rego=2055842&country=au
There are a couple of others on the forum supporting Movember too.
Thanks in advance.

I have been thinking about raising money for the RFDS Royal Flying Doctors Service. As we travel to remote areas it would be good to support a service that supports us if we need them.
What do people think?

convoy for sids and kids wa

We will see how Lordy goes with it.

A guy was trying to set up a national sids for kids run a few months ago I think they pulled it off but I beleive it was hard work for him.

I didn't go on that run but would have liked to.

that was james brooks from newcastle first started the idea.
he led a run in the hunter region and it did pretty well. i think they raised around 5 grand with about 50 vehicles involved

the other run was in perth, quite a bit bigger and far more organised. i was a member on the committee for this one and it was alot of bloody hard work. from memory there was nine of us on the committee, 8 in perth and me in the midwest, and then there was all the members of the western patrol club (i think about 30 odd members chipped in. in the end, we had a good turn out in perth with well over 16 grand raised and 300+ vehicles in convoy for around 60 k's from the northern most suburbs, to a motorsport venue in the south. we had a charity auction, a live band, and a sausage sizzle, plus a few supporters stalls etc. 4wd action mag had a rep there and so did 4x4wa (a new west aussie tv show happening soon). our event coordinator, did an excellent job making sure things went well, hopefully we will be able to make it a anual event now too.

check out Home for the website for the perth run.
