The post man just delivered me a set of BFG km2's. The closest thing to that feeling you used to get as a kid at Christmas!! They look tough
Not long now boys! (And girls)

285/70/17 or roughly 33" in the old money. Now to make them fit... Bit of plastic cutting and it should all be good.

"This amount is per person on foot, or per vehicle, boat or aircraft regardless of the number of people in it."

Does this mean if I'm towing a boat I can throw another cAse in the boat?!?!

There is a pub in Bamaga but again they will only serve you the allowable limit - and it is expensive.

Don't forget to get in early at the Bakery as they typically sell out quick with the backpackers etc and their products are fantastic.

cheers

The restrictions will really only affect us north of the Jardine in the area shown on the map. When I was last there I usually had more, when we leave Bamaga we wont be able to get any until Coen. I will be buying my limit (no wine) on top of any "left overs I have" for the trip to Vrylia Point.

The main thing is to be fully aware. Don't have it in open view and DON'T drink in open in the restricted areas!!!!!!

When we went up we berried a space case in the bush south of the Jardine with grog in it and picked it up on the way back worked a treat

So what day are people leaving Sydney? Any plans for a convoy?

The 6th mate, which I believe is a Saturday. Considering the leg from Syd to Cairns is going to be a bit of a rush job, I'd imagine it'll be an early start. I'm leaving from Newcastle so it'll be an even earlier start for me, to ensure that I don't miss joining the convoy, haha.

What's expensive?

At King's Creek the other day I bought a 6 pack of Calton draught for $38:eek:

It all gets expensive out that way Clough the moment you turn off the Stuart Hwy!!!! They have you by the short and curly's:eek:

A carton at Bamaga will be around $80 from what I have heard.

Jeez, you must've REALLY wanted that coldie clough.

We plan our trips around beer pricing as much as fuel sometimes :D

Eg. worked out even with a meager 4 an arvo / early evening ea on upcoming simmo trip, me and brother would need 112 cans !!
Not going to happen, now working on a mix of bundy, red wine, port, anything to reduce to need to carry so much, and still enjoy a wind down drink at days end / with meal.
The alternative is buying some beer stock at Mt Dare, which would be pretty extravagant I am sure.

im leaving early on the 6th and heading up via the inland route.

Might stop at st george and camp on the river or might push on depending on how im travelling.

That sounds like the go, I imagine Jase will be doing the same. You still heading home via the coast road mate?
