Going up to Dargo and the Blue Rag Track on the Queens Birthday long weekend. Has anyone been up there lately and what is the track like?

Hi Ozne,

If you are going to be based at Dargo then there are a few ways to Blue Rag , Dargo is your last stop for fuel .

First one is to stay on the dargo High plains Road and head towards Mt. St Bernard, Blue Range Spur Track is signposted or was last time I was up there.

The other two ways in are Talbotville ( no longer a town but a point on the map. great camping spot, long drop dunnies and the river on your doorstep. This is via Grant , there is only the cemetry left ( again no longer a town but a point on the map ) Take water for consumption in with you .

From here you have the relatively easy way of Brewery Spur track onto Ritchie Road then turn onto North Basalt track then onto Blue Rag track. The alternative is Basalt Knob track which can be rear end puckering if wet, this flows onto North Basalt Knob track .

Make sure you take your camera with you as it is spectacular out at the trig point on Blue Rag
