Blowering Dam and Tumut

We recently went to explore the tracks behind Tumut (before the travel ban obviously). Its worth checking the area out, even while there are many forest closures since the fires.

The camping is amazing at Blowering Dam. 100% recommend it. There is a heap of space and absolute water front grassy campsites. Unreal! The perfect weather helped a lot, it would have been a different story if it was blowing a gale.

The tracks behind Tumut are worth exploring, we drove most of them except for a couple of the ones in the middle. Some of them were nice and steep and a little loose, but not technical at all. There is a great view that looks out over Tumut at one point along the top of the main ridge. We stopped there for lunch before heading back towards Canberra to find a camp.
