I'm using the galaxy pro with androzic. I also run a network with oziexplorer. All the maps are compatible between each other. This combination has worked tops for me over the last three years or so.

If your looking for maps on a iphone/ipad have a look on the itunes app store which is where owners get their apps from (eg searching for "4wd" will bring up "4WD Australia by hemas maps @ $149.99)

Im sure Android based phones have somthing similar?

I personally just run the standard TomTom Australia app on my iphone for onroad nav and firetrails - and use google maps for unmarked tracks in satellite view (which comes stock with iphone/pad, or google earth is free as well) but I only 4wd locally

The easiest way to browse apps for a ipad is to either do it on the ipad itself - or download itunes to your computer and run it, and have a look at the apps available from inside itunes (searching directly on apples website using IE or firefox is a nightmare)

Sorry for the late reply guys. I've been in Melbourne over the weekend playing.

I reckon bill or walkout might be able to hook you up with some maps. Any maps for ozi so long as they are in the hema ozf2 format android will run it. To convert any other map that runs on oziexplorer you can use a converter program that can be downloaded from the oziexplorer website.

Bill I did toy with the idea of buying the ozice for android but thought I would play with the free android app first to see if the tablet works for me. At this stage it is working great so I will go that next step before I heat down for the gathering in November.

THANKS BigRig for dobing me in for a job

Geoscience Maps are available from the Government site FOR FREE in .ECW (There in 1/250,000 - Fine for touring) & these can be converted to ozf2 or the newer ozf3.

I have converted ALL of NSW - VIC & South East SA AND joined them into ONE MAP - BUT, in ozf3 (Fine for OziCE).

Anyone wants a copy you can get it from my DropBox Here:-

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9oojtwc7uz83lfc/8kADSpX0XG

WARNING - It's 530 Meg.

(Put both files into the MAP folder of Windows or Android OziCE)

Free Topo Maps For Ozi And Magellan

Letting you fellows known that you can download maps for ozi android/ windows ce /Androzic or ozi PC here for free are already converted. http://maps.festy.org/ . I had a look at the specs on the Aldi 9.7'' tablet but it didnt say what the resolution is ,would be good if it was 1280x800 and if it had 12v input, very easy to load ozi on it . I opted for the 7'' galaxy tab for my 100 series as the 10'' sort of blocks your vision on the dash .At 75% screen brightness, screen is visable during high sun unlike my 7'' chinese gps with hood. im also running igo street nav which also allows you to enter gps coordinance into it with these tabs you can instantly switch from ozi to street nav play music recieve and make call if you have a sim slot . I think it wont be long before we see double din indash android media plays with gps

haven't used androzic but think it's a thinly disguised copy of oziexplorer , that being the case there should be a folder in there called 'maps' just drop them in there i would guess.

IPad front,

I use Motion X and Memory Map.....

There are positives and drawbacks to both Hema and VMS

The main drawbacks: Hema only have Itopo maps from their offering at 1:250K, you have to purchase the 1:25K as an extra cost.

VMS apears to have issues with scalling from what I have read, that results with track details disapearing and reapearing depending on how you zoom in or out....

I have found Memory Map and Motion X to be excellent on the IPAD
