I agree, I've had mine for a couple of years now and recently spent almost every night for 6 weeks using them. Best mats we've ever used and they pack down nice and small. Exped Megamat 10LXW, Not cheap but quality rarely is, my Dune and Oztrail mats haven't been used since.
Pics below for comparison of packed size, Exped is the Red one, Dune is the Grey and Oztrail is the blue.
The missus and I love the fact that they also have very straight sides and fit together making two singles fit like a double. We find this works better as you can easily inflate your own side to your optimum comfort level.

A mate of mine bought a dune mattress a few months ago , said its comfortable but too bulky , his now looking for something that packs away better.
Im on my 2nd TECHNI ICE self inflating mattress and its good , only drawback is it takes a little longer to inflate .

I'm on the Exped megamat bandwagon

This is easily the best camp mat I have ever slept on. It is genuinely good enough that I am seeing short comings in my normal bed. We have two of these and simply put them down side by side. You can also get a strap that secures them together for a proper queen size experience. One of the great features is you can easily adjust the airpressure when lying on the mat, allowing both of you to have that just right feel.

I found having two single mats is ideal, easier to pack away and when I go away by myself the mat goes in my swag.

It seems like the Exped has great reviews. Has anyone tried the Oztent self inflating mattress?

When blown up how thick are they and do they have any foam in them ?

The Exped 10LXW is 10cm thick and the Exped blurb says the fill is Open Cell PU Foam (whatever that is).

Yes they contain foam as Poppa mentioned, they have enough foam in them to insulate extremely well from hot or cold ground I believe they are rated down to somewhere around -40. They are 10cm thick and maintain that thickness to the very edge, no rounding off.

The only problem as such with them is price. I was lucky enough to get mine on sale for around 30% off.

+1 for the exped. The singles are so much easier to pack & store than the old queen size self inflating space hogging set up. They’re a great night sleep too, I think the single is easier to get us both comfortable...

There should be a swap meet so we can clear out the surplus camping gear that doesn’t get used. I’ve got so much old gear hanging around in the shed that will never be used again. Might raise some coin to invest in other accessories too :=)

I actually have a Queen size "self inflating mattress" on my side of the Trak Shak, and Lynnie has a foam mattress with egg shell,..
Works well and best "no partner disturbance" of them all, except when it's really cold, out in the Desert, we snuggle up.
    But that's a different story !
